Aspen, Snowmass, and the Roaring Fork Valley Real Estate. They come here for the Winter and stay here for the Summer. Many people come to Aspen and Snowmass year after year for its world class skiing. A lot of my clients and prospects have never been to the Roaring Fork Valley, the home of Aspen and Snowmass, during the summer. Personally, I love the Roaring Fork Valley all year long. I can't imagine living anywhere else. I count my blessings every day for being able to live and work in a place I consider paradise.
So, what is so great about being in the Roaring Fork Valley in the Summer? If you and yours love the outdoors, the Roaring Fork Valley is the place to be. First of all, you can't beat the weather. It's hard to beat the Roaring Fork Valley's dry climate and moderate temperatures. In July, the hottest month, the average high is about 77 degrees and the average low is about 46. By far, most days are characterized by blue skies with beautiful cumulus clouds. Where much of Colorado only has evergreen and pines, the Roaring Fork Valley has a variety of deciduous trees including huge groves of shimmering aspen.
The Roaring Fork Valley is blessed with some of the most beautiful rivers in Colorado including the Roaring Fork, Frying Pan, and Crystal. People come from all over the world to play in these rivers. They are award winning rivers for gold medal fly fishing, rafting, and kayaking.
What other outdoor sports is the Roaring Fork Valley know for? First of all, last year, the Roaring Fork Transit Authority finished the Rio Grande bike trail from Aspen to Glenwood Springs. This wonderful bike trail runs for about forty-five miles with much of it being along the gorgeous Roaring Fork River. Building this terrific bike trail was a major undertaking involving the removal of several miles of railroad tracks and paving the old railroad right-of-way. Whether you are a road biker or a mountain biker, some of the finest biking trails and areas in the country are located within the Roaring Fork Valley. Another outdoor activity that shines in the Roaring Fork Valley is hiking. The Roaring Fork Valley is loaded with some of the finest mountainous hiking trails in the country and if hiking a mountainous trail is too strenuous for you, the Rio Grande trail and Crystal River trail are relatively flat. The Roaring Fork Valley also has equestrian trails that provide some of the most beautiful scenery for horseback riding.
Another noteworthy Roaring Fork Valley outdoor activity that people come from all over the world to enjoy is golf. The Valley is populated with many golf courses and communities. Some of them are private like Maroon Creek Club, Snowmass Club, Roaring Fork Club, and Aspen Glen, but there are also many public courses like Aspen Golf Club, River Valley Ranch, Ironbridge and Glenwood Springs Municipal. Whether private or public, all of the Roaring Fork Valley golf courses are beautiful with many of them having riverfront and mountain view holes.
